In this final blog post about my trip to London, we discuss the remaining days of our trip and our way home trip. at this point our official trip is over, yet we ll decided to stay on for a few days. we all went to Paris for at least a day trip and then split up until we all departed and went home.
Paris (7-18-17)
Today we woke up the earliest at about 4:30 am. this was to take the Euro Star to Paris. The ride was about 2 1/2 hours. we arrived about 9 am and the tour guide picked us up to show us around. we had a private bus tour and tour guide for our group. They took us first to The Sacre- Coeur Basilica in Paris. This overlooked Paris and had a nice view of the surrounding city.

The tour guide then took us to Notre Dame. Note this was before the tower burned down. Also note to bring a shaw or cover your shoulders. They will not let you enter without something covering your shoulders since it is a church.

We headed next to the Eiffel Tower. We went up all three levels to the tippy top.

After photos from the top we headed down to a lower level. There they have restrooms, a cafe, and refreshments. We walked along the Seine river to have dinner. After dinner we split up. My family headed back to London to see other sites, while the others stayed in Paris a few extra days.
Downton Abbey (7-19-20)

Any Downton Abbey fan should take a day to see the Castle and town because they are iconic and a must due. My mom, sister, and I packed our bags. We met our small tour group that was taking us to sites of Downton abbey. They first took us an hour and a half to the village where they filmed the town scenes.

We went in the Church, the graveyard, and saw other sites in the town. The town was small but quaint. we got to go into the church, which was neat. Next, we drove an hour through the countryside to High Clear Castle.

This was where the show was filmed. We got to walk around the castle on a guided tour and saw the set where Downton was captured.
The grounds were nearly 5,000 acres, filled with gardens, statues, hedges, and familiar scenery.

They had an outdoor tent with food, tea, and more. we stopped there for tea time and desserts. From there we met up with my moms friend for two days.
Flight Home (7-21-17)
We left early for a bus to the airport. We met up with the others from Paris in the terminal. They had spent there three days since we saw them seeing more of Pairs. We all headed home on the same flight. Although I was sad about the trip ending, I was glad to be home to rest and recover.
Thank you for following along on my journey to London!!
Until next trip,
Amelia
