GS Central Maryland Camps

This post explores different Girl Scout camps within the GSCM area. Read about each camp and what each offers.

Camp Conowingo

This camp is located on 600 acres of fields and forests. It overlooks the Susquehanna River. It offers four year-round lodges and seven seasonal. It has two commercial sized kitchens, a swimming pool, a tennis court, horse stables, and high and low ropes courses. It features a creek and pond suitable for fishing. There are many hiking and nature trails suitable for different ages, levels, and skills.

Camp Ilchester

Situated on 19 acres of land, this camp offers a meadow for camping and a picnic pavilion. Inside the Clementine Peterson Activity Center there are meeting rooms and a kitchen. The Caitlin Dunbar Nature Center offers tours and walks. There is also a GS store located within the Activity Center.

Camp Whipporwill

This 19 acre piece of property sits along the Magothy River. It has a boat house intact with canoes and kayaks, a volleyball court, one year round lodge, and five seasonal units.

Camp Woodlands

Situated along Broad Creek, this 34 acre property has waterfront access. It has two year round lodges, four seasonal units, and a program center. It has rowing activities, trails, and fire pits.
