Benefits of Traveling as a Girl Scout

Traveling as a Girl Scout offers experiences that one could not go if one travels individually. Girl Scouts are recognized across the globe and many businesses give special opportunities just to Girl Scouts. This post describes opportunities found in traveling as a Girl Scout.

Travel with your GS friends

By traveling with your troop/group, you can bond over experiences. You can see the world together and cherish memories you will remember for your whole life! When you travel with your peers, it gives you an experience you may never get again in your life.

Travel as a group

When you travel as a group, such as with Girl Scouts, it is an experience. Group travel tends to be a great foundation to pave the way for solo travel. For example, traveling can be hard on your own, but as a group you always have a buddy and a friend to talk to.

You get a say in the planning

When you travel as a GS, you get to help suggest ideas of locations to travel to. If you have a spot you have always wanted to travel too you could suggest it!! You get to also learn where other Girl Scouts your age want to travel.

Stay overnight at places only Girl Scouts get access too

Girl Scouts can stay the night at museums, zoos, and aquariums. Head to each region for a GS post to learn abut what opportunities your community offers for a GS.

Great learning experience

From someone who has traveled with family and with my GS family, I have found that I have learned more from traveling as a GS. I have learned patience and teamwork. I have learned how to travel in a bigger group and how not to get lost. When I travel with girls my age we often bond over similar experiences and I have made travel Girl Scout friends. When I travel with Girl Scouts I get to head to GS specific sites and meet even more girls my age. This includes going to World Centers, camp grounds, and more. I have enjoyed me time traveling and I highly recommend traveling as a Girl Scout.
